What is the best worktop for a kitchen?

The best kitchen worktop depends on how you cook and how much maintenance you want. Solid surface is our all-rounder: seamless joins, repairable and easy to clean. Compare Corian with HI-MACS, Staron and our other current ranges, then request a quote for a fitted price.

How much do kitchen worktops cost in the UK?

UK kitchen worktop prices vary by range, thickness, edge profile, cut-outs and whether templating and fitting are included. Entry-level solid surface sits at the lower end; Corian, HI-MACS and premium Corinth Stone colours cost more once fabrication is added. A typical kitchen is priced on linear metres, not a single slab price. Use our free quote for a supply-and-fit figure that includes your layout.

Do you supply and fit kitchen worktops across the UK?

Yes. Apollo Kitchen Worktops supplies kitchen worktops nationwide, with professional UK templating and fitting available. We have dedicated sales lines for Bristol, London, Glasgow and Manchester, allowing you to speak to a local team while ordering directly from the factory.

How do you join kitchen worktops?

Joins depend on the range. Solid surface can be bonded into a near-invisible seam. Composite slabs are templated, cut in the workshop and installed with tightly controlled joints. We advise on the right joint for your layout at the quote stage.

How do you clean kitchen worktops?

Wipe most kitchen worktops with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach on solid surface. Hot pans need a trivet on resin-based surfaces. See our solid surface kitchen worktops for the ranges we currently supply.

Yes. Most of the brands we supply will provide up to 3 samples free of charge, provided we have given you a free quote. Sample availability varies by manufacturer: some brands send images rather than physical boards, and certain colours may carry a sample charge set by the manufacturer. We will advise you of any applicable charges before ordering. Many manufacturers do not provide samples of veined worktops, because around 80% of the slab is a plain field (often white) rather than the vein you see on screen. Order samples once you have a quote.

Minerva solid surface

A complete Minerva kitchen — worktops, splashbacks, upstands and sink modules

Minerva is a 25 mm solid surface range for kitchens that need a practical, wipe-clean deck with a stone or marble look. You specify the colour, we price the run, then independent Corian Accredited installers can template and fit it with the rest of the kitchen.

Use this page to compare colours, understand thickness and sizes, and find the extras that usually sit with a Minerva top — sink modules, splashbacks, upstands, jointing and care kits — before you send a drawing.

Why homeowners choose Minerva

Features that matter when you are actually specifying

Solid surface, 25 mm

A substantial kitchen deck with a contemporary profile. Colour runs through the sheet, so chips can be repaired rather than replaced.

Worktops, splashbacks, upstands

Match the run around the room. Upstands and splashbacks can be cut from the same colour so the joint line stays quiet.

Sink modules

Factory-prepared Minerva sink modules with undermount steel, acrylic or granite-look bowls, including left- and right-hand drainers.

UK template and fit

We can arrange independent Corian Accredited installers for all brands, at 50% of the standard template and installation rates.

Sizes, thickness and where it is used

What to tell us on the quote

Typical Minerva worksurface thickness is 25 mm — a solid, contemporary profile that still needs proper support over dishwashers and at breakfast-bar overhangs.
Sink modules are commonly supplied around 3050 × 650 × 25 mm, with left- or right-hand bowls. Confirm your cabinet run and tap position before we order.
Applications: kitchen worktops, islands, breakfast bars, upstands, splashbacks and matching sink modules. Not for uncovered outdoor kitchens.
Installation: we template once the base units are in and level. Average supply-and-fit from order to installation is 14–17 days, faster if a slot becomes available.
Care: wipe with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. Use a trivet for hot pans and a chopping board for food prep. Do not seal Minerva as if it were natural stone.
